Gods of Chaos “March into Perdition”

Coming from Zagreb, Croatia, GODS OF CHAOS have a very fitting name for their chaotic mix of grind and a touch of noise. The band will be releasing their album March into Perdition on May 1 which will be available digitally. They are partnering up with The Path Less Traveled Records for their release.

The band’s guitarist and drummer met in late 2008 at a rifle shop. After talking about guns for a bit and joking about the metal and punk scenes, they agreed that they hated each other’s music taste and lifestyle, aside from duck hunting. They got together and picked out a vocalist and bass player based more on attitude than musical preference and playing technique. The band does not socialize outside of band practices but are serious about their music.

Gods of Chaos recorded March into Perdition with Colin Marston of Behold…the Arctopus and Dysrhythmia fame. Marston runs the Thousand Caves Studio in NY. and has recorded and produced Krallice, Vasaeleth, Altar of Plagues and many other bands.

The band decided to choose Marston because they feel he has the ability to think outside the metal and punk scene conventions. Members of Gods of Chaos find his production approach, playing aesthetics and attitude similar to theirs.

Tombstones – “Year of the Burial”

The ultra-heavy Norwegian three-piece, Tombstones, is back with their new album “Year of the Burial”.

With this effort Tombstones redefine their own formula of downtuned heaviness. Their doom is darker, filthier, heavier and more consistent. The sinister approach of “Year of the Burial” sends shivers of cold down your spine, and takes you back to the evil priests of ancient times.

Unlike any modern production, the sound of Tombstones is rich, warm and dynamic. and has a low end destined to crush all things crossing its path.

“Year of the Burial” is recorded live in winter-cold Oslo, behind the gates of Caliban Studios. With it’s lack of dead-compressed sounds, the production provided by Petter Svee, Audun Strype and Tombstones, makes you feel present during the actual recording and has a life of its own.

Needless to say, this album will leave its marks. Light your candles and feel the darkness.

ABAZAGORATH: HATRED FOR THE SPIRIT OF MAN

http://www.facebook.com/Abazagorath666

Abazagorath “self-titled” EP

New Jersey’s black metal legends ABAZAGORATH will be releasing their self-titled EP through CT. based record label NoVisible Scars in March.

Abazagorath, meaning “the Spirit of Hate for Mankind” formed in 1995. According to the band’s Facebook page, “Abazagorath was formed with the intention of creating original Black Metal with a dark and haunting atmosphere. Abazagorath reflects the initiates’ deepest fantasies of hatred, war, melancholy, darkness, evil, the occult and death.”

Along with several releases, the band has shared the stage with some of underground metal’s best known acts such as Deicide, Marduk, Enslaved, Impaled Nazarene, Incantation and Suffocation, just to name a few.

Around 2007, Abazagorath took a hiatus for several years until they reappeared in the black metal scene in 2011. The hiatus was caused by lineup issues as well as the member’s involvement in other bands such as Funebrarum, Evoken, Warhead, In Memorium, Angelcide and ex-Immolith.

This second arrival of Abazagorath means that they are here to stay and will bring more wrath and evil than ever before.

The track-listing is as follows:
Conjuring
The Antigod
Lapse
Immortals
Storms of Destruction

VESPERIAN SORROW: THE STORM IS BREWING

Texas based symphonic dark metal band VESPERIAN SORROW will be releasing their fourth full-length album Stormwinds of Ages on April 24.

The Path Less Traveled Records are pleased to announce their partnership with Vesperian Sorrow for this release. The Path Less Traveled Records said, “We’re in the situation now where signing bands a la the 2000′s is no longer a smart business move. We will distribute this record through MRI/RED for the band. The band is paying for the physical product themselves and will receive a majority of what is sold. No more excuses for labels screwing bands. This is the first of many partnerships you will hear from us in the future.”

Since 1998, Vesperian Sorrow have toured throughout Europe and North America. Stormwinds of Ages was recorded, mixed, and mastered at the band’s own Amplitude Media Studios.

This release has already received high praise from several media sources, including Loucifer Speaks where she said, “The album itself feels like a more complete work than previous albums. Every track is placed in its optimum place to enable the band to take you through their elaborate and monumental soundscapes. The production is clean and crisp and allows you to be able to absorb every detail of everything that’s taking place.”

1. Sanguis Vitam Est
2. Stormwinds of Ages
3. An Empire to Mourn

NEFTARAKA: GET ETERNALLY HARSH WITH MORTS

NEFTARAKA on Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/necroneftaraka

After a collection of demos and EPs, splits and their first album Eternal Harsh, NEFTARAKA have invoked more black metal hatred and savagery in the form of their sophomore full-length album on Eldritch Lunar Miasma Records, Morts. This album is dedicated to Evil in Man. Mortswill be released on compact disc and also on cassette tape which is limited to 200 hand-numbered copies. The album is due to be released on Jan 21.

Neftaraka’s previous full length Eternal Harsh was reviewed on Lurker’s Path who said, “While the name and country of origin [Malaysia] hardly scream black metal, the regimental orthodoxy that takes hold on their latest full-length, Eternal Harsh, is ponderously melodic in its blasting, regimented style.” Neftaraka’s duel between hailing from Malaysia and playing black metal may just be enough reason to want to check them out.

Morts was recorded between Jan. 2010 and Sept. 2011 at Unholy Necro X Studio in Malaysia.

The track-listing for Morts is as followed:
1. Rituale
2. Sufferance
3. Morbid
4. Legions (Silverian Kvlt)
5. Pandemonium
6. F.O.A.D.A
7. Anttarra Solitude
8. Morts
